The Society of Sports Therapists AGM June 2006
An AGM is one of those necessary requirements that every organisation has to hold in order to fulfil its duties and responsibilities. Sadly, unless things are not going well it is also one of those events that members of any organisation seem to be happy to avoid at any cost. Therefore, to add an incentive to members to attend we like to put on a lecture/programme that is free for any member attending. For this years event we had already arranged for Karen Hambly, from London Met, to give a presentation on an area that is very relevant to practice of Sports Therapists.

From Pain to Performance
A large number of our members attended this highly successful conference which focused on problems of the shoulder. The 350 plus members of the audience were treated to some outstanding lectures from Dr Tom Loughran, Bob Izzo, Alison Middleditch, and Julia Church. Dr Tom Loughran is an Orthopaedic specialist at the Medical Centre at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He is also a Medical Director of the Sports Medicine Centre at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Bob Izzo is a Senior Physical Therapist at the Sports Medicine Centre at Virginia Commonwealth University.
