Calling all Final Year Sports Therapy Students!
Applications for two 2019 Society of Sports Therapists Student Travelling Scholarships are now OPEN.
These Travelling Scholarships offer two Final Year students, who are due to graduate this year with a First Class Honours degree from a Society accredited programme, an incredible opportunity to kick-start their Sports Therapy careers at one of two Canadian institutions: York University, Toronto, and St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario.
One of this year’s winners will be fortunate enough to touch down in Toronto and spend the following five weeks with staff at the Gorman/Shore Athletic Therapy Clinic at York University, Windsor, as well as experiencing the pre-season training camp, match preparation and coverage at the University. There is plenty to learn from the expert therapists working at the Gorman/Shore Athletic Therapy Clinic, as well as a wide variety of new experiences to be had in the university sports environment. Last year’s winner, Lewis Bulmer, made the most of his once-in-a-lifetime trip to Toronto - you can read more about his experience here.
St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario, is our second destination for this year’s Student Travelling Scholarships. This is a newly designed internship and provides a fresh and exciting opportunity for applicants. The winning Graduate will be hosted by the Athletic Therapy Clinic at St. Clair College and spend five weeks there as an intern, alongside Kim Stroesser, Head of Athletic Therapy, and the staff there. To add to this, the intern will be accompanying college teams during training and match preparation, while also having the opportunity to visit other centres and clinics, as well as meet with Sport, Exercise and Therapy specialists in Windsor.
With two exciting Student Travelling Scholarship opportunities available, could 2019 be your chance to get your career off to a flying start?
