Society Director Ashley Jones in Conversation with Dale Forsdyke

Society Member Dale Forsdyke is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Injury Management and Subject Director at York St John University. In this latest podcast, conducted by Society Director Ashley Jones, Senior Lecturer in Sports and Exercise Therapy at Leeds Beckett University and supported by Ed Pratt, Chair of the Society’s Communications Group, the focus is on the psychosocial factors associated with injury and performance.

The podcast initially gives an overview of Dale’s journey into Sports Therapy practice and in both Further and Higher Education teaching. Dale discusses his research, delving into the initial psychosocial risks associated with injury and the implications for successful return to play. He also gives some excellent practical advice for Sports Therapists related to integration of psychosocial outcome measures following injury.

Dale has had a number of studies published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, focusing on the psychology of the sports injury rehabilitation process. He is also in the final stages of his professional doctorate.
